The brief
Solara Apparel came to us designing a clothing brand from the ground up — no existing logo, no color palette, just a name and a target customer: 18–30 year olds who care about bold, sun-inspired streetwear. They asked specifically for a red and yellow circle logo, referencing the energy of vintage sportswear crests.
Why a red and yellow circle logo
Red and yellow together read as high-energy and optimistic — a common pairing in sportswear and fast-casual branding because both colors sit close on the color wheel and share strong warmth. For Solara, we used a solid red circle as the base shape with a yellow inner ring representing a rising sun, tying the mark directly to the brand name.
- Red: confidence, energy, boldness — the dominant color at a glance
- Yellow: warmth and optimism, used as an accent so it doesn't compete with red
- Circle shape: unity and motion, and it crops cleanly into a social profile photo or hang tag
Making it production-ready
A logo for apparel has to survive more than a screen. We tested the mark at embroidery scale (2cm), single-color screen print, and full-color digital use, simplifying the inner ring until it stayed legible at every size.
